Welcome to a special edition of CBO! This panel was recorded at the 2011 Bristol convention. Scott was lucky enough to host a panel discussing the amazing Slaughterman's Creed. The complete creative team were involved in the panel, Cy Dethan (writer), Stephen Downey (art), Vicky Stonebridge (art) and Nic Wilkinson (lettering). We talk in detail about the conception of the graphic novel and the creative process that went into the final product. This is a discussion not to be missed! In order to illustrate the discussions a presentation was projected so that the audience could see some of the things that were talked about. There was also a video showing the photo-reference process that Stephen Downey used for some scenes. If you would like to see the presentation and videos be sure to visit: http://www.cydethan.com/index.php?page=bristol-comics-expo-panel and you can follow along! |

In this episode we begin with a variety of news and reviews, but also a reminder about the current book club selection - Zoo City by Lauren Beukes from Angry Robot books. Zoo City recently won the 25th Arthur C. Clarke Award and we will be speaking to Lauren in a few weeks time, around the start of June, about the book. So there is still plenty of time to pick up a copy of the book and send in any questions you have, plus your general comments for the discussion part of the show. For our main feature there is the return of an old favourite, the Guilty Pleasure. In this episode Scott steps into the confessional and gets something off his chest, something he loves but perhaps shouldnt. Let us know if you share his passion for this guilty pleasure or if he needs to keep it to himself in future. |
